Senior Product Manager, Trust & Safety

The Trust & Safety team mission is to establish Coinbase as the most trusted financial platform in the world. Trust is integral to Coinbase’s success in reaching our mission of creating an open financial system for the world, and is a high priority for the company as a whole. We own and develop the systems that allow users to access the Coinbase suite of products, including login, two-factor authentication, and the risk controls that keep our users safe. We envision a future where accessing Coinbase is as simple and intuitive as one-click, through a combination of biometrics, device fingerprinting, and other unprecedented solutions, all while maintaining the strong security that Coinbase has developed from the start. As part of this role you will define the strategy for the area, including which features are integral to keeping our users safe. You will deeply understand the quickly-evolving crypto space, and lead the team to create innovative solutions to the security vs. usability tradeoff.
We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Product Manager who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, able to think through complex challenges, and able to align cross-functional teams effectively to launch products. Knowledge and experience in security, trust & safety, payments products, and/or crypto products are value-adds for this role.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- You will define and build out the Trust & Safety roadmap, rethinking the entire user experience to build a seamless and secure entryway to the Coinbase products.
- Build the 1- and 3-year strategies and help prioritize the roadmap for the Trust & Safety team.
- Work with your Design and Engineering counterparts to build & launch core functionalities for all Retail and Institutional users.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and teams to help influence and drive successful outcomes.
- Challenge existing status quo and push for new, effective and scalable solutions.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience with expertise in either financial technologies, security, or crypto products.
- Bachelor’s degree; computer science and/or software engineering background preferred.
- Ability to build strategy, prioritize and deploy new innovative solutions with focus.
- Ability to decompose problems and evaluate tradeoffs using both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Keen analytical skills; awareness of the latest in security and FinTech space a plus.
- Strong product discovery and research skills; able to abstract away complexity from the user experience.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
